Grandbaby #2

I am soooooo excited that my son Todd, and his sweet and wonderful wife Britt, will be blessing Brett and I with a GRANDDAUGHTER around the beginning of September. As anyone familiar with the Walker clan knows, we bring forth boys. Brett and I have three, Brett's brother and his wife have five; and as for girls, Brett's sister Lori and hubby Tim have four girls. So you can imagine the excitement that is in the air, knowing that we will have a little girl to spoil in our immediate family.

We love and adore our grandson Eli. I love having a grandson. I love associating with boys. I love their rough and tumble, in your face behavior, and the interesting way they look at life. I desperately miss Eli, as he is living on the other side of the country with Mike and Laura. Thank goodness for Facebook, blog pages, text messaging, and little film clips that my son and his wonderful wife send me often to keep up with Eli and his cuteness.

What is going to be in the future for Aila (my granddaughter)? One thing for sure--Brett and I are going to have fun getting familiar with having a little girl in our life!!

My Day Off

Today was my day off from work...and I was so excited to not even look at my car, or even go outside. It's been raining cats and dogs out here in Warner Springs for the past two days. We now have rivers and small lakes on our property from the constant rain. I LOVE IT!
Anyway, I work in Escondido five days a week, and substitute in Temecula one, and drive 45 minutes each way to church in Julian. So being at home is a luxury!!
I cleaned and felt like baking. Okay, this is weird to post a picture of bread, but I made two loaves of sensational french bread. They were so pretty (and tasted even better!!) that I had to snap a photo. Yummm! I keep taking little slices everytime I walk by. These two loaves won't last a day.

Welcome to the family!

Since we live in the country, we have encountered a diverse amount of wildlife. We regularly see hawks, owls, bats, wild turkey, bobcats, coyotes, and deer. And the pests...rabbits, mice, lizards, and gophers. Since I have been home recovering from surgery, we decided it was time to get some "mousers" to try to get some of these critters under control. We adopted two orange brother cats, named Fred and George (after the Weasley twins in Harry Potter) to help out. It's fun to watch them in action! What's next? Hmmmm....horses?
